***Package description***

Project Open Sky’s Airbus A330-200 equiped with Rolls Royce engines. Painted to the Virgin Atlantic’s colours. I know; Virgin Atlantic doesn’t own any A330’s! I’m proud to present you the fictive A330 called Lady Hannah “Sweet love”. My second anniversary scheme. Completely painted from scratch, 98% of the entire textures templates including the alphas and night effect are absolutely new. Typical night lighting. Fabulous interior and cargo bay textures.

***Scheme story***

I’ve spend more than two months to repaint from scratch this wonderful aircraft done by Project Open Sky. Here’s a short story of the work I’ve done one it for those who does have the patience to read it. Will you take the challenge?

Step one. The paint kit….. I’ll be honest with you guys….. I hate paint kits! I wont take half a page to explain why I hate them but at least it give you the main reason why I decided to paint from scratch my own paint kit. So far, I’ve been used to do that for every single aircraft (6 out of 8 aircrafts) I painted since more than a year. So, experiences give me many talents. I can now paint a plane from A to Z without any problem.

Step two. The Virgin scheme. Ok ok, Virgin Atlantic doesn’t have any A330 in real life. But I like very much the scheme and the A330. So why not try a mix? Nice cocktail hey? Now I want to make clear that this paint is mostly pure painting. The photoreal parts represents only 10% (and less) of the whole textures. I mention this simply because I’m proud of the fact that I don’t only rely on photoreal techniques to make my scheme look real. And the fact that Virgin doesn’t own A330’s tend to prove my say. Photoreal render fabulous textures but it is not as fun as painting by hand. It also give myself more proud about the work I’ve done.

***More information details about few details.***

The wings. This is by far the most difficult pieces to paint. In this case, the paint kit textures where good but not aligned with the templates. How could it append? I’ll leave that to the original Posky’s painters. However. I totally repainted the wings from scratch. My new textures have absolutely nothing to do in relation with Posky’s textures. The alphas also are totally new. A closer look to the wings will show the richness of the colours and details reach a quality that I've rarely saw. Wing views are absolutely awesome!

The engines. Yup. I had the crazy idea to paint reflection of the fuselage on the inner side of the engines. For those who like wings views. Remember, no photoreal at all for the engines and wings.

The lights effects on the tails, fuselage, cargo bay, cabin interior and engines are brand new once again. Some of you might be surprised by the shape of the lighting on the tail. It is in fact a typical detail of the real life A330’s lighting equipment. It took me an hour to precisely render the same effect in FS. Quite a very good job doesn’t it? Same thing for the fuselage and the engines and cabin interior.

Congrats! You read everything!
